Great! It's time to install the performance sensor.
Enable the slow query log
Add the following parameters to the MySQL configuration file.
By default, the configuration file is at /etc/my.cnf, or at /etc/mysql/my.cnf.
Restart the database
To enable the slow query log, please restart the database at your earliest convenience.
sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart
Install the performance sensor
The sensor will automatically report slow queries to EverSQL, and generate insights.
If your slow query log file is not at /var/lib/mysql/slow.log, please modify the path below.
curl https://www.eversql.com/install/ubuntu_18_04 > install_sensor
bash -x install_sensor /var/lib/mysql/slow.log
Once installed, the sensor will start sending identified slow queries within a few minutes.
Uploading a schema structure
Most of our advanced optimization algorithms require the schema structure. To improve the optimization results, please upload the schema structure (How?):
The submitted schema structure will be used as part of all future optimizations. It's recommended to periodically update the schema structure for best results.
